Silk & Spice Festival
Bukhara
6-8 April 2007

If silk and spices are the subject of interest for your, then Bukhara is the city of choice, where from 6 - 8 April 2007 the Silk & Spice Festival is held for the 7th consecutive time, thanks to the relentless efforts of the city's Small Hotels and B&B owners with the support of the local mayor's office, who this year also host the General Assembly of the Crafts Association Asia & Pacific Rimm plus the UNESCO awards ceremony for seal of excellence bestowed to top craftsmasters of the region.

And most of all, you want to meet colorful people and see their crafts? During the days of Festival you are certain to see the most colorful, interesting, friendly, hospitable and surprising people, whose lifestyle in many ways has not changed substantially for the last 2000 years either, whose customs and traditions, shaped by all those who once conquered these lands or migrated here, still are the most important part of their existence.

Madrassahs, trading domes and Minarets of the old city, Bukhara’s legendary bazaars come alive during the days of Festival. The best of crafts for your entertainment throughout the day followed by a nightly special program – puppet theatre, folk songs, tightrope walkers, live music, children’s choir, folk dance, fashion theater and more.
